Raffi founded a+c architects in 1993 in the spirit of forming lasting partnerships with clients and communities through architecture. A designer’s designer, he brings a unique vision to every project, delivering solutions that marry functionality with innovation. Raffi is a listener by nature and can, therefore, successfully translate each client’s articulated vision into spaces that perform. Raffi believes the processes of designing and building are collaborative art forms; he has gathered a studio of professionals that share in this spirit of teamwork. Raffi’s talent and passion for photography and fine art are evident in his aesthetically pleasing hand drawings and concept sketches. His approach focuses on acting as a steward of each client’s vision, transforming design challenges into opportunities.

Joanna joined a+c architects in 1999 as a Project Manager. A licensed civil engineer by training, her strong technical background supported her ability to gain an in-depth understanding of the various design and construction methods used to build a project at any scale. Diligent research, mentored guidance, and real-world experience complemented Joanna’s education and allowed her to successfully oversee complex projects from concept to completion. Today, as a Principal of the firm, she acts as operations and technical director overseeing day-to-day workflow in the studio, as well as overall project progress. Joanna’s inherent drive for organization and clarity are visible as she manages complex, in-flux timelines while emphasizing quality control.

Samar Sobi joined a+c architects in 2023 as an Architectural Designer and quickly established herself as a quick and eager learner.

She participates in all stages of projects, demonstrating her

detail-oriented and focused approach. Involved in all aspects from planning and design to documentation and construction observation, Samar brings a fresh perspective to design challenges with her creativity. She collaborates closely with all team members, supporting the development of client deliverables. Samar's enthusiasm for taking on new tasks and her commitment to excelling in her role make her a valuable asset to the team.
